U for Utopia

Suppose,

The girl that you loved with so much intensity loved you back, the dreams you are chasing chased you back with the same speed. Every day you wake up with a resolve to look after your body, and you eat only healthy food and do regular exercises. You get admission into your dream college and your dream subject. You get a dream job, with your dream salary. You stay in your favorite city, in your favorite locality. You drive your dream car to drive to your dream office, and you get to take vacations in whatever place you like and howsoever long you want to. Your bank balance is so high that it won't end no matter how hard you go on spending. Your body and mind are always so motivated that you can do whatever it decides.

This description though looks like something that you would want your life to be like, but deep down you know it's far from possible. Everything written above sounds just perfect but is life ever perfect? Even though we might believe that it's only our life that's not perfect, everybody else's seems to be just perfect. Here is a secret I want to share with you, it's not just you, it's everybody else who is thinking the same thing.

If I waited for a perfect Idea to strike me, I wouldn't have been half as consistent in writing blogs this consistently over the last 25 days. I wrote some brilliant pieces that I am proud of today, and I wrote some dull pieces that am equally proud of today. I see my efforts when stacked one on the top of other, created a small hill that I am proudly sitting on top of.

I have taken both paths, waited and created some near-perfection performances, and consistently performed regularly.

I would at any day choose consistency over perfection now. I see much better results since I gave up on chasing perfection, I chase regularity now. As a byproduct my self-confidence has grown, knowing that I can trust myself to get things done, even on the worst days of my life, just like Today. My worst is better than most people's average.

Utopia, for me, is just an illusion meant to lure in the weaker minds. And I am not one of those weaker minds, and neither are you. So, let's throw off the lenses of perfection from our eyes, and choose its underestimated but mighty powerful counterpart that the world calls consistency, because

Perfection is just a myth, brilliance lies in the journey.

Today's day was a tough one for me, I have been going through a really tough time in the last few days. It was an added work pressure, family stress, and ruins of past personal turmoil that I had to deal with in the last 24 hours. This blog wouldn't have been possible without my friend Govind, who not only came up with the subject, but also called me in the night just to check if I completed my today's commitment, and pushed me to write, just before an idea of escape entered my mind.
