January updates of goals
🌟 January Update of my goals @2025 🌟
Time to report my progress🎯 Personal Goals
- Don’t die and avoid any near-death experiences. (A good place to start!)
- Successfully managed escaping it. I had nearly two close calls on the roads. But keeping my calm in tough situation helped me. I thought Mumbai marathon route was going to turn out into one, but gladly it didn't.
- Enjoy one solo dinner (dining out) every month. (Date yourself—you’re worth it!)
- Yeah I did one, in Mumbai. I ordered myself dal khichdi & Papad and enjoyed the awkward post run carbohydrate rich meal after losing almost 4000 calorie in matter of almost 5 hours. I almost lost 4 to 5 kgs of weight as well
- Hit the gym at least four days a week unless there’s a strenuous run. Log progress and body vitals. (Current Body Fat: 19–20%; Goal: 16–17%)
- The last I checked on gym at the first day of week I was 18.9% almost my all time best. Its really tough to reduce body fat percentage. I hope I achieve that.
- Limit cheat meals (samosa, biryani, gol gappas) to one per week. (Yes, samosas count!)
- I had in all five samosas, 1 biryani and 3 days of Gol gappas. Guilty of sneaking in multiple Wada pavs in my four day stay at Mumbai.
- Meditate for at least 10 minutes on 15 days each month. (Namaste your stress away.)
- I failed miserably at this, Did it hardly for 3 days. I need to take this seriously, Writing it out as the wall note to have constant reminder.
- Avoid writing letters to acquaintances under six months. Write two letters to yourself every month. (You’re your best pen pal!)
- Successfully negotiated it, I had a chance to write them, it was tempting too but I feel proud not to have done it. I just wrote one to myself next on the way, let's see how many do I manage to get.
- Take at least five photos weekly. (Snap those moments, Picasso!)
- I am seriously bad at it, didn't do it in touristy trip, didn't do it even it iconic debut marathon, and missed taking them on the last day at my office. Someone has to teach me that. I would still try, I have a run coming next week, were I expect to get decently good attention with some high profile appearance. Let's see how many I manage to pull out
- Complete weekly: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 15 minutes of planks. (20-20-20 every weekday, like a boss.)
- Four days of push ups, One day of plank and Zero days of sit-ups. Pretty bad I see, let's see how to get better at them. I promise to improve my numbers this month. I did all that was asked of my strength training classes though, some of them had push ups, but its still and excuse, This is meant to be outside office
🏃♂️ Fitness & Running Goals
- Run two full marathons. (Mumbai Marathon sets the timing goal—double the pain, double the glory!)
- One done, Mumbai was breached in four hours and forty six minutes and forty seven seconds though it took 46:47 minutes more than my target time, but I will excuse myself as It was a dare still well achieved and felt like heaven on completing. I teared while reading some banners that children held on route, totally a heavenly experience. Club run 1hr pacing and club run volunteer run and TCS Bangalore 10k next on the line.
- Run five half marathons (1:40 target). (Because halfway isn’t half-hearted.)
- I did a 1:50:36 finish at Seva Bharti Run, Run for a girl child. Fairly decent timing, 2 minutes better than my previous personal best, Volunteer run coming up, I would try bettering it by another two minutes. 1: 48 the goal.
- Run a 10K in 40 minutes. (Speed demon vibes!)
- Since I have the pacing responsibility I am not able to do a full throttle 10k run, probably will attempt it after club run. I need to focus on this after club run, which also turns out to 10k but I have a speed limit on the higher side. Probably would be able to update here next month.
📚 Hobby Goals
- Watch one movie weekly. (Netflix and discipline.)
- Horrible, I didn't watch a single of them. I think I will need PVRs help in achieving that. Let's see and start with one movie in theatre per month.
- Bookmark your journey: Track the books you love and unapologetically ditch the ones you don’t. (Life’s too short for bad reads!)
- Read four hour workweek.
- Dumped Jumpa lahris book- In other words
- Four times a week step into gym. (Glow up incoming!)
- 15/30 days, decent enough but we will get better at them
- Temple Time: Start with one temple visit a month and scale up to weekly blessings. 🙏
- Technically yes, I visited Sidhi vinayak in Mumbai. But this was more meant for hyderabad and I clearly failed at it.
💰 Financial Goals
- Stock Escape Plan: Fully exit direct stock investments and switch to mutual funds. 💸
- Started doing it, exited completely out of HDFC LIFE, a significant holding, half of my Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC AMC, Infosys, and Tata Consumer product.
- Golden Hour: Invest in gold and ease up on fixed deposits. 🌟
- Going through some fund shortage, and indexes seemed to be at recent buying level so moved the sale precede of above stocks there.
🤝 Social & Family Goals
- Invest in friendships and deepen existing circles. (Water your garden of friends!)
- Intended, but haven't been able to get in touch with most of them this month. I would circle back this week.
- Avoid Instagram forever. (Say no to the scroll hole!)
- Did get rid of my old account, created a new one since runners wanted it, strictly running profile for promotion and existence, not replying back or sending any reels at all. Had a good one month break.
- Don’t force connections or make one-sided efforts into new relationships. (Save energy for the worthy ones.)
- Pretty Impressive at that, allowed people to leave, even those who I had already put in a lot of efforts for. I still put on efforts, but unreciprocated efforts now cease to exist from my end, especially if you are not on inner circle
- Avoid commenting on physical appearances. (Spread compliments, not critiques.)
- I don't remember faltering at that, though I bitch about behavior of some people but again reduced frequency at that.
- Call mom and sister three times weekly. (Family MVP vibes!)
- Mom done, sister there is another arrangement I need to come up with.
- Call everyone in your inner circle at least once a month. (Circle check!)
- Bad babes, pretty bad at them.
💻 Professional Goals
- Be a kickass developer and create a GitHub forest. (Coding like a champ!)
- I have been straight away lazy at that, pretty lame and lazy, get up on your feet babes, that the part which affords you everything that you have currently.
- Launch BhumikVaru.com with a blog and portfolio. (Brand goals!)
- No progress at all.
🌟 Milestones & Fun Challenges
- Ask people out without overthinking. (Shoot your shot!)
- Decently good job at it, communicated very clearly till now.
- Take a shirtless picture on the beach. (Confidence level: unlocked.)
- Beach, shirt and shirtless body, not even remotely close at either. But yeah I plan to do it.
- Complete Proclaim Slam runs. (Challenge accepted!)
- Toughest battle conquered, easiest one next in April.
- Learn to drive a car. (License to freedom!)
- On the mind, and on the plan. Let's do it this summer
- Play with dogs whenever you can. *(Puppy love forever!) 🐾
- True to spirit, I did well on this, and I love myself for doing it consciously always
- Shave your head and rock the bald look. (Bald is bold!)
- Rishikesh, I am craving for you, and leave my pride and hair on your feet.
- Memorize one full poem. (Poetic soul vibes.)
- Yet to start!
🛠️ Life Improvements
- Don’t buy skinny jeans. (Your legs will thank you.)
- Done
- Upgrade to a larger bed. (Sleep like royalty!)
- On the way, I don't have enough spare money to do it at this moment, but i am sure to have it shortly, probably most logistics will change in coming month or two
- Buy a shoe rack. (Organization level: pro.)
- I don't have it, but I order shoe cover. Does a decent job, but i will get it as well.
- Don’t buy stuff you don’t need just because it’s on sale. (Bye, impulse buys!)
- Good job at it.
- Adopt a skincare routine. (Glow up incoming!)
- I am washing my face with facewash almost everyday, scrub almost every couple of days, and sunscreen almost every time before going out in sun, does it count as a good beginning, you decide.
I know sequence is messed up, I will get them back shortly
